What Do We Know About the 2021 Ford Bronco?

When Ford announced the resurrection of the infamous Bronco for the 2021 model year, fans of the legendary SUV rejoiced. Unfortunately, few details have emerged from Ford since. Westland Ford has been hard at work researching what industry insiders expect to be true about the upcoming 2021 Ford Bronco.

Design

The 2021 Ford Bronco is expected to feature a boxy, nostalgic design reminiscent of the original iterations of the Bronco. The SUV is also anticipated to come in both two and four-door variations and will have a removable top for those who like to feel the wind in their hair.

Hybrid

One detail explicitly confirmed by Ford about the new 2021 Bronco is the existence of a hybrid powertrain. The hybrid Bronco will combine the rugged capability of a full-size SUV with the fuel efficiency afforded by an electric battery. Though this will not be the Bronco’s only engine option, it provides a greener option for drivers who are concerned about their environmental impact or with saving money on gasoline.

Baby Bronco

This time around, the Ford Bronco is expected to release for 2021 with a companion model currently dubbed by Ford enthusiasts as the “Baby Bronco.” The smaller “Baby Bronco” is expected to fill the size gap between the Escape and the Bronco.

2020 Ford Expedition Limited Most Trail-Ready Expedition

The 2020 Ford Expedition is a full-size SUV known for its ample cargo space, luxurious amenities, and technological features the whole family can enjoy. Ford decided to take all that and add a twist of off-road supremacy via the 2020 Ford Expedition Limited trim level. Families who want to stray from the beaten path without forfeiting the comforts of Ford craftsmanship will love the 2020 Ford Expedition Limited.

Ford added the FX4 off-road package to the high-class Expedition Limited because even the best style can afford to get a little muddied every now and then. The seven-passenger family-friendly SUV takes full advantage of the package, which includes off-road-tuned shocks, all-new electronic limited-slip rear differential, side steps, and skid plates.

Its 32-inch all-terrain tires were designed to traverse over rocky, muddy, and uneven surfaces and make it look easy. Approach angles for cresting steep obstacles are improved thanks to a shortened chin spoiler under the front bumper. Seven underbody skid plates team with a sand shield to defend turbocharger intercoolers, and all vital parts are thoroughly protected by high-grade steel.

A 3.5-liter EcoBoost® engine yields 375 horsepower, for a responsive ride quality. It mates with a 10-speed automatic transmission and will tow up to a best-in-class 9,200 pounds, allowing you take whatever equipment you need to maximize your family’s getaways.

Experience the 2020 Expedition Limited for yourself when you stop by Westland Ford.

Ways that the 2020 F-150 Beats the Silverado

The Ford F-150 and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 are the nation’s number one and number two best-selling trucks — in that order, and for a reason. For 2020, the F-150 beats the Silverado in nearly every category.

The biggest win for the 2020 Ford F-150? The inclusion of the Ford F-150 Raptor, the off-road-ready high-performance truck. Chevy does not offer a competitor in the Silverado lineup.

Ford’s available diesel engine, the 3.0-liter Power Stroke® is capable of towing up to 11,500 pounds. The Silverado’s new diesel engine, which was due for 2019 but was delayed until the 2020 model year, only enables towing up to 9,300 pounds.

The 2020 F-150’s most powerful engine is the 3.5-liter EcoBoost®, which pumps out 470 lb-ft of torque. That’s a best-in-class rating, which means — you guessed it — it outperforms the Silverado.

The 2020 Ford F-150 also delivers superior safety technologies. The new Ford Co-Pilot360™ suite of safety features includes Pro Trailer Backup Assist™, BLIS® (Blind Spot Information) with Trailer Coverage, Hill Descent Control™, Auto High-Beam Headlamps, the Lane-Keeping System, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, a Rear View Camera, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go.

You can test-drive and purchase the 2020 Ford F-150 here at Westland Ford in Ogden, Utah.

2019 Ford Edge Achieves Top Safety Pick Status from IIHS

The 2019 Ford Edge recently underwent safety testing with independent third-party Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), earning the coveted distinction of Top Safety Pick. In fact, the Edge aced all six areas of IIHS crash testing to earn this honor.

“We are really pleased the insurance industry places such a high degree of trust in our 2019 Ford Edge,” said Angela Cascaden, Ford Edge Marketing Manager. “It not only offers a number of innovative safety features for passengers, it backs that all up with a host of driver-assist technologies designed to help improve confidence behind the wheel.”

According to the IIHS, it’s the Edge’s solid body structure and standard front crash prevention features that make it such a worthwhile SUV for safety. The IIHS also lauded the Edge’s available LED projector headlamps with curve-adaptive technology.

The 2019 Ford Edge comes standard with Ford’s comprehensive suite of active safety technologies, called Ford Co-Pilot360™. This suite includes Ford’s Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking. The IIHS specifically lauded this technology, saying it “rates superior for its ability to react to an imminent crash with another vehicle.” Also included in Co-Pilot360 is BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert, the Lane-Keeping System, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Lane Centering, Auto High-Beam Headlamps, and the Rear View Camera.

Holiday Gift Ideas for Someone That Has Everything

Giving gifts to someone you love for the holidays can be so rewarding. Watching that smile snake across their face and knowing you put it there just might be the best feeling in the world. Here are some holiday gift ideas for someone that has everything.

  • Focus on experiences: Utah has so much fun stuff to do. Plan a trip down in Salt Lake, take them for a weekend of skiing, or rent a boat for a beautiful day out on Great Salt Lake when the weather warms up. If you can manage to travel a little farther, head west to the coast for some wine, south to Zion National Park, or up northwest to the Olympics for whale watching.
  • Think practical: If you’re shopping for someone who buys everything they want for themselves, think faster than them about upcoming needs. Maybe their car is due for an oil change or they could use all-weather floor mats because they like to go off-roading. Showing them you thought about their specific needs will mean so much to them.
  • Give back with them: If your friend or family member truly has it all, they might enjoy giving just as much as you do. Suggest skipping gifts for each other this year and instead donate your time together to a charity.

Still stumped on what to give certain people on your Christmas list? Give us a call at Westland Ford. We’ll be happy to recommend our favorite car-related accessories that these individuals would find useful.

Ford Reveals All-Electric Mustang-Inspired SUV

Just when you thought you had seen it all, Ford announces a major breakthrough in the automotive world. The long-awaited all-electric Mustang-inspired SUV is finally ready for the world to see.

According to the Blue Oval, this SUV, whose design is heavily influenced by the Mustang pony car and which will run 100 percent on electric power, will be unveiled on Nov. 17. This is Ford’s first mass-market electric vehicle and has been codenamed Mach 1; it was first teased during the North American International Auto Show in Detroit back in January of 2018.

So, what do we know about this electric Ford SUV inspired by the Mustang? Not much, though Ford has dropped some hints here and there. So far, we know that:

  • The SUV’s all-electric range will exceed 300 miles.
  • Lincoln will borrow this SUV’s platform for its own model, likely a luxury electric SUV.
  • Ford has secured partnerships with several companies to grant drivers access to more than 12,000 charging stations across the country, including several 150 kW DC fast chargers.
  • Though it was unveiled with the temporary name of “Mach 1,” Ford has filed a trademark for the name “Mach E.” This could very well be the SUV’s new name.
