The 2019 Ford Ranger reached dealerships just a few months
back, but already this off-road ready pickup is dominating in sales.
Previously, the Ranger had been offered with two package options—the Sport
Appearance Package and the Chrome Appearance Package. The former offers
Magnetic Gray-painted accents and distinct wheels while the latter adds chrome
body accents and wheels.
These two packages have been incredibly popular. According to Ford, more than 67% of all new Ford Rangers have been purchased with one of these two packages. Building on this success, Ford is throwing a third package option into the mix: the Black Appearance Package.
The Black Appearance Package is available on any Ford Ranger
color and adds body-color bumpers and a number of black details to the
exterior. This includes a black bash plate on the FX4 Off-Road Package, black
running boards, black mirrors, a black lower valence, a black sill plate, a
black fender vent surround, a black spray-in bed liner, a black-painted grille,
and high-gloss black-painted 18-inch aluminum wheels with—you guessed it—black
“Like the rest of their gear, Ranger customers are choosing
the option that best fits their adventures,” remarked Todd Eckert, Ford truck
group marketing manager. “Having the right gear matters and so does the right
look. The Black Appearance Package adds aggressive style to the adventures our
customers embark on.”
It’s April at long last, which means you’ve made it through another harsh winter and need to start thinking about how to get your vehicle ready for summer. Here are a few tips to get you started:
car: Road salt does not wash off with rain. If you haven’t washed your car,
truck, or SUV all winter, wash it now to prevent rusting. Keeping it clean and
waxing it regularly will also help you retain value.
oil change: Never put off an oil change, as it is essential for your
vehicle’s engine health. If you’re cutting it close, schedule an appointment
now at Westland Ford. Have your vehicle’s tires rotated while you’re here.
your AC: Before the summer heat takes over, make sure your air conditioning
system is working properly. If something seems to be amiss, have our
technicians find and fix the problem before the heat becomes unbearable.
your wiper blades: Even the best wiper blades don’t last forever. After a
wet winter and an already wet spring, prioritize replacing your wiper blades
for perfect visibility during summer driving.
your lights: Speaking of visibility, walk around the exterior of your
vehicle to ensure all of the lights are working. Summer days are longer, which
means we stay out longer and will likely be doing more night driving. Replace
any bulbs that have burnt out.
For more extensive summer repairs, bring your vehicle into Westland Ford for service.
