Get Your Car Summer Ready

Ford Service Maintenance

Winter is over and it’s time to get ready for summer. The Quick Lane® Tire & Auto Center at Westland Ford provides thorough inspection and maintenance to keep you safe and prepared for all those summer trips. No appointment is required, just stop on by when most convenient to get your car summer ready.

Tires

Tires can wear down and sometimes wear unevenly. A tire rotation can ensure even wear and extend your tires’ lifetimes. Your car may only need some simple maintenance tips, but if you do need new tires, Quick Lane® offers 13 brand-name tire choices like Goodyear and Michelin.

Oil

Regular oil changes can improve gas mileage and extend the life of your car. An oil change ensures a healthy engine, and Quick Lane® provides three different packages that can include tire rotations and battery tests.

Brakes

Brakes are vital to a safe drive for both you and those around you. Winter snow and salt can take their toll, so have your brakes tested for peak performance. If you hear squealing, it’s time to come in.

Cooling System

Warm weather can do a number on an already hot engine. Have the experts at Quick Lane® look over the cooling system and hoses so that your engine stays cool during the hot months ahead.

Windshield Wipers

Often overlooked, a worn-down pair of wipers can seriously impair driving when the weather is dangerous. Replace your wipers to make sure no storm can block your view.

Ford Expands Medical Transportation Service Nationwide

2019 Ford Transit Van

Last year, Ford created a transportation service called GoRide Health that utilizes Ford Transit and Transit Connect vans for non-emergency medical transport for public use. After a year perfecting the system in the southeast Michigan area, Ford now plans to expand its services nationwide. They are currently operating in Toledo, Ohio, and plan to move services into Cleveland, Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus.

Many people, especially those with disabilities or in wheelchairs, need reliable transportation for regular medical visits. The GoRide service has been gaining attention from large-managed care organizations for its usefulness, safety, and 95% on-time rate.

Minyang Jiang, CEO of GoRide Health said, “By the end of the year we expect to have over 130 vans. By the end of next year over 200.” The plans are to launch in Miami and other Florida cities in 2019 and North Carolina, Louisiana, Texas and California in 2020.

As of yet, urban markets have been the focus, but the service is looking to provide medical transport in rural areas that lack public transit. GoRide has been using data analytics to help identify transportation gaps so that they can better target where services are most needed, to better assist their connected medical organizations.

Here at Westland Ford, we are always happy to hear about another way to Ford is working to better the community.
