3 Best Back-to-School Ford Vehicles for First-Time College Students

Though summer isn’t over yet, it’s never too early to start thinking about going back to school. If you are heading off to college for the first time at a commuter college or an out-of-state school at which you’ll need a set of wheels, consider getting a new reliable car before heading out. Here are three of the best back-to-school Ford vehicles at Westland Ford.

2019 Ford Fiesta

Ford’s smallest car is also its most affordable. The new Ford Fiesta starts as low as $14,260 and is incredibly efficient, earning up to 35 miles per gallon on the highway.* The Fiesta is offered in a range of eye-catching colors, such as Lightning Blue and Outrageous Green Metallic.

2019 Ford Fusion | Ogden, UT

If you want a slightly larger car that is still highly affordable and highly efficient, consider the 2019 Ford Fusion with seating for up to five. The Fusion is available with a number of Ford Co-Pilot360™ driver assist safety features, including the Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert and Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking.

2019 Ford Ranger Debuts New Belt Monitor

Seat Belt Safety Alerts

The 2019 Ford Ranger is a revived off-road-capable mid-size pickup truck that is redefining the segment — and not just in terms of off-road prowess. The Ford Ranger is also a high-quality family truck, with innovative safety features, including the industry’s first Belt Monitor system for trucks.

This new system alerts the driver if at any point during the drive, a rear seat passenger undoes their seatbelt. Not only that — but it specifies which passenger seat it was. Other systems alert drivers when a vehicle is parked and when it initially pulls away, but the Ford Ranger’s Belt Monitor system works at all times — in parking lots, on highways, and even off the beaten path.

The Belt Monitor first appeared on two 2018 SUV models, the Ford Expedition and the Lincoln Navigator (Lincoln is Ford’s luxury arm). The Ranger is the first of Ford’s trucks to get this technology. According to Ford, it will be a standard feature across all trim levels.

Certain 2019 Ford Ranger models also come standard with Ford Co-Pilot360™ active safety technologies, including the Lane-Keeping System and the class-exclusive Blind Spot Information System with trailer coverage. Other available driver-assist safety features include the reverse sensing system and adaptive cruise control.

Experience the Ranger model’s new Belt Monitor system firsthand when you stop by Westland Ford for a test drive.
