Ford Connected Car Services Expands to Package Delivery

Delivering a Package

If you have ever suffered the misfortune or having your Amazon packages stolen from your porch or the inconvenience of a weather-beaten book on your front step, Ford has a solution. Ford is teaming up with Amazon to bring Key by Amazon In-Car Delivery to many Ford and Lincoln vehicles.

This is the latest expansion of Ford connected car services. With Amazon In-Car delivery, you can choose to have your packages delivered inside your Ford instead of being left on your porch. This service will work through the FordPass pass and will link with your Amazon Prime account.

In the app, you will need to activate your Ford and its location for in-car delivery. Then, when you check out on Amazon, you will need to select the in-car delivery option. When your package is out for delivery, you will receive multiple notifications, including one right before delivery. You will also get a delivery confirmation and verification that your vehicle has been securely locked again.

If you change your mind about in-car delivery, you can block access to your car in the app and the delivery driver will drop off the package at the building where you are parked, or you can reschedule for the next day.
