Best Skiing in Utah

Skiing in the mountains

The skiing on offer in the state of Utah is some of best in the U.S.A. and it’s only natural that many amazing resorts have sprung up around the state to accommodate the locals and visitors alike who come from across the country to enjoy the fresh Utah powder. Some of the best areas, however, can be a bit remote so having a full-size Ford truck can really come in handy when you just have to hit the slopes.

Powder Mountain

Powder Mountain has made a name for itself through exclusivity. The resort only allows 1,500 ticket sales per day ensuring that there is never a crowd where you want to put down your tracks. Due to this exclusivity, Powder Mountain requires a bit of pre-planning. During that pre-planning you may want to consider packing an extra cooler in the truck bed as dining options in the immediate area are somewhat limited.

Park City

Park City is the largest ski resort in the country and gathers crowds to match. Skiing Park City is almost considered a rite of passage for Utah snow sport enthusiasts. Park City is well situated to benefit from all the lake-effect snow that makes Utah such a skier’s paradise. The Park City town at the base is itself a quaint attraction and worth some time to explore. Home to the world-famous Sundance film festival, this location has plenty to see and do but the town is large enough it could be worth driving from destination to destination in a Ford with heated seats when the temperatures get low.

Snow Basin

Snow Basin is a lesser-known spot that still has a lot to offer. With a number of amenities and food options built for the Olympics, there’s plenty to do on the mountain even between skiing the numerous slopes and terrain types. The only downside is that there is no slope-side accommodation, but with a Ford truck the short 10-minute drive over shouldn’t be much of an issue.
