For Halloween fans everywhere, September and October are exciting times. If you love your Ford as much as you love Halloween, here are some spooky-themed road trips you can take this Halloween season.
Gardner Village Witch Displays
This event might sound scary, but it’s actually a perfect event for the whole family! Witch-themed displays are set up over a course of 45 days, during which Gardner Village in West Jordan throws its annual Witch Fest. The whole town celebrates by donning street signs, businesses, and homes with witches. You can go for a day to enjoy the sights or participate in Wee Witches Weekend, which is perfect for the kids.
If you’re looking for a less scary and more adult-themed trip, then Oktoberfest is for you. Oktoberfest takes place over two days in Salt Lake City. There will be tons of food, drink, and lots of local musical acts. If you do want to bring the kids, though, you can, thanks to a kids’ area with a craft tent, ring toss, giant Jenga, and more.
Ogden Witchstock Festival
Another witch-themed event takes place in Ogden. The Witchstock Festival is held over the weekend before Halloween – October 28th. It’s not just witches here, either – the event kicks off at 6:00 p.m. with the Zombie Crawl and at 8:00 p.m., you can party with you beau or kids at the Monster Bash.

As summertime winds down, it’s time to make some last-minute summer memories. Located just a short trip away from Ogden, UT are various destinations for you to visit and soak in the last rays of summer sun. Here are a couple day trips from Ogden, UT – which you can stretch to weekend trips, if you’d like – that we recommend.
Heber Valley, Utah
The wonderous Heber Valley is located only an hour and 15 minutes away from Ogden, making it the perfect day trip, and sits next to the Wasatch Mountain State Park. While visiting, you can take a scenic ride on the Heber Valley Historic Railroad Line, take a dip in the hot spring Homestead Crater, and round out the day by grabbing some food at Heber Valley Artisan Cheese. If you want to extend your trip, you can explore nearby Deer Creek State Park and Jordanelle State Park.
Bear Lake, Garden City, Utah
Bear Lake State Park is located a mere two hours from Ogden and is well worth the trip. Colloquially known as the Caribbean of the Rockies, Bear Lake boasts beautiful blue waters because of the lake’s limestone deposits. In the park, you can camp, spend some time on the water, explore the numerous hiking trails, or even do some cave exploring.
If you need a vehicle to reach these exciting summer destinations, we here at Westland Ford are happy to provide you with your new means of transportation.
